Summer Flowers

Summer flowers are appearing in waves of color and so are some more new creations from the fabric garden.

Here is my new Streetcar Knitting Bag named for the Belmont Streetcars that ran by my Great Grandparents home and Cottage Bakery.
This is a flat bag perfect for small take along projects, books and of course all those great design magazines. All bags have the same designs on the back.

The first two feature Australian designer Shannon Lamden "Cookies" & "Knit/Purl" prints on 55% linen 45% cotton. They are accented with Kaffe Fassett, Amy Butler & Robert Kaufman fabrics.

The next two feature Japanese import fabrics. Yuwa "Handmade" and "Buttons" are used in Black on the first bag & Watermelon on the second.
Both also have Kaffe Fassett "Shot Cotton" and either Alexander Henry "Ume Stripe" or Amy Butler fabrics.

These two aprons are in a child's size. Alexander Henry "Bird Seed" & "Flea Market Fancy" in the first and Amy Butler Midwest Modern "Fresh Poppies" & Lotus "Wallflower" in the second.

I am now working on some Mother & Daughter aprons with Amy Butler prints edged in eyelet borders and also sets with Martha Negley vegetable prints.
Thanks for your interest, Judy

MORE NEW CUPCAKES

The garden says it's almost Spring!

A new batch of cupcakes are ready to go. The first apron is done in Martha Negley's Chocolate "Teacups" with a pocket and band in her Chocolate "Cupcakes".
The second version is made with her "Cupcakes" in Aqua with a pocket and band in Aqua "Teacups".

The next apron is done in Chocolate "Cupcakes" with a pocket and band in Martha Negley's Chocolate "Icing Stripe". Strawberries, raspberries & cherries are nestled in a decorative icing swirl border.

I also made up an "Anna's Knitting Bag" in a combination of "Cupcakes" and "Teacups" topped with the "Icing Stripe" in Vanilla.

For those upcoming Farmer's Markets, I added a "Yamhill Market Bag" in a mix of Martha Negley and Kaffe Fassett prints.

Thanks for looking, Judy

NEW BAKERY CUPCAKES

Aprons at the Canzler Bakery were very practical years ago. My Great Grandmother Anna and her Mother Anne in the center of this picture would have enjoyed my new chocolate cupcake & tea apron. I used Martha Negley's fabrics tied with a print of chocolate polka dots on rose.

While looking through my Martha Negley fabrics, I decided to use some of her vegetable, fruit and flower prints to make another apron. These colorful prints make a unique combination. I added a bottom band & pocket of "Tossed Vegetables" on a natural background. I then topped it with ties of Kaffe Fassett "Dotty" in plum.

For those larger projects, I put together a new Yamhill Market Bag. This one is a combination of Kaffe Fassett prints "Pinking Flowers", "Jungle Stripes" and "Targets" all in bold and bright prints.

A new Anna's Knitting Bag in soft shades of Spring. Roses, Dahlias & Zinnias leaning towards lavender.

Spring can't be too far away, my Daphnes are all covered with buds and the Camelias are blooming. I caught them here between rain & snow showers.

Back to my sewing, Judy

MORE NEW ADDITIONS

Fresh from my Singer Featherweight!
A selection of new items using Kaffe Fasset fabrics in colorful prints to brighten up your winter day.
First an original apron with a skirt of "Verbena" in Red and band & pocket of "Hydrangea" in Black. Ties are "Nosegay" in Black.

Working with these prints inspired a matching Anna's Knitting Bag featuring the "Hydrangea" in Black for the band & handles. I used a mix of complementary Kaffe Fassett fabrics for the rest of this bag.

The next Anna's Knitting Bag is another mix of colorful Kaffe Fasset designs leaning towards Gold & Red. I have banded it with "Embroidered Leaf" in Plum.

As always both sides of my bags are made with the same print designs, so they look just as unique coming or going.

MATCHING BAG

PLUM "EMBROIDERED LEAF" BAG

I am working on some more projects with Martha Negley Vegetable, Fruit & Flowers prints and will list them as soon as they are finished. Thanks for looking, Judy
